The master watchmaker Ferdinand Adolph Lange from Dresden founded the watch shop in 1845 and formed the basis of Saxon watchmaking. In 1990, Walter Lange, the grandson of Adolph Lange, re-established the watch shop by working with Günter Blumenin, although the brand was almost vanished due to World War II.
