Audemars Piguet has unveiled a luxurious twist on its renowned Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, now in a full 18k yellow gold edition limited to Greater China. Initially presented as the groundbreaking RD#2 prototype, this model set records as the world’s thinnest perpetual calendar watch at just 6.2mm thick. Though surpassed in slimness by other brands, this edition maintains its iconic status, offering an exquisite design in yellow gold.

Retaining the technical specifications of the previous titanium models, this 41mm diameter watch still boasts its signature slim profile at 6.2mm, with the gold material significantly increasing its weight. Classic elements, including the iconic octagonal bezel and eight white gold screws, remain, while water resistance is limited to 20 meters. The new 26586BA features a fully monochromatic look, with a matching gold dial, subdials, and moon phase display on a starry blue background. The hands and markers, crafted from 18k yellow gold, feature white SLN for optimal legibility day and night.

At the heart of this watch is the in-house caliber 5133, a refined evolution of the classic 2120/2121 caliber, contributing to the ultra-thin design without using a modular approach. This sophisticated movement, operating at 19,800 vibrations per hour with a 40-hour power reserve, combines all calendar functions in a single layer. Visible through the sapphire case back, the movement displays polished chamfers and Geneva stripes, showcasing AP’s dedication to fine craftsmanship.
