Bulgari, which secures it's position among the unchanging names of traditional luxury watchmaking every day, is the guest of our Hands On corner with it's Lvcea model family added to the current product line in 2014.
The collection, which was among the 2014 novelties of the brand, was presented to the watch enthusiasts Baselworld exhibition of the same year and was among the most popular women's watches of the year with a strong, positive feedback. The model family, which highlights the brand expertise in design and superior craftsmanship with its unique and elegant lines, is under the spotlight with the Ref. 102980 version.
The Lvcea Collection offers a wide selection of models from modest and sporty all stainless-steel versions to dazzling full gem-set and gold versions. The model Ref. 102980 we have here is a blend of the two ends.
The model comes in a 33mm diameter round case manufactured from stainless-steel. Designed in accordance with the Bi-Color concept, the bezel on the front face and the winding crown is made of 18K pink gold. The bezel is gem-set with brilliant cut diamonds while the winding crown is adorned with cabochon cut pink stone and a single diamond. The case is water resistant to 50 meters and equipped with scratch-resistant sapphire crystals on both sides.
version we have opted for review comes with a bright blue dial with sun beam style surface pattern. Thanks to it's design with lines coming out of the center along the gradually darkening background color, the dial offers a eye-catching stance. Accompanied with 11 gem-set 18K pink gold hour markers, the dial features a date display window at 3 o'clock housing a black font over white background date disk. Let me add that, this version is available through brand's strategic partners only and not shown in Bulgari's official web-site.
Bulgari Lvcea Automatic Stainless Steel & Gold (Ref. 102980) is powered by the brand's manufacture self-winding movement. The movement, which offers a date display function along its hours, minutes and seconds feature, beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a 42-hour power reserve when fully wound.
One of the most striking features of Bulgari Lvcea Automatic Stainless Steel & Gold (Ref. 102980) is its metal bracelet. The bracelet, which is a good example of the brand's unique experience and creativity in jewelry, is made of stainless steel with 18K pink gold accents. Featuring design clues from the brand's Serpenti and Tubogas style bracelets, the Bi-Color bracelet offers optimum comfort even for the most elegant wrists. The bracelet is secured by a Bulgari signed folding clasp made of stainless-steel.
A very young collection within the Bulgari product range, Lvcea seems to be moving fast for becoming brand classics with its unique design and rich model alternatives to appeal to almost any taste.
