Grand Seiko introduces the Hi-Beat 36000 GMT SBGJ277 Sekkei, a traveler's timepiece embodying the beauty of snowy mountain valleys in a sporty yet elegant design. Powered by a Hi-Beat automatic movement, this watch offers triple time zone functionality with impeccable precision.
The SBGJ277 features a silvery white textured dial reminiscent of snow-covered landscapes, complemented by two-tone green and white bezels. This true GMT watch allows for tracking of a second time zone, with the 24-hour bezel providing the option for a third time zone display.
Adding to Grand Seiko's renowned Sport Collection, the SBGJ277 joins a lineup of nature-themed dials, including the Hotaka Peaks and the SBGE275 20th-anniversary edition. Inspired by Japanese culture and the picturesque surroundings of the Shizukuishi manufacture in the Iwate prefecture, the snowy dial captures the essence of Sekkei, or snowy valleys, during the summer months.
Legibility is paramount in the SBGJ277, with large mirror-polished indices and LumiBrite inserts ensuring clear reading in any situation. The GMT hand in dark green and the 24-hour track in white and green further enhance visibility and evoke the lush greenery of the valleys.
Encased in a sporty 200m water-resistant stainless steel case, the SBGJ277 boasts meticulous finishing to Grand Seiko standards, including Zaratsu polishing. The bidirectional rotating 24-hour bezel, coated with sapphire crystal, offers functionality reminiscent of mid-century watches while incorporating modern LumiBrite technology for low-light visibility.
As a traveler's timepiece, the SBGJ277 allows for independent adjustment of the local hour hand without stopping the seconds hand, enabling seamless transitions between time zones. Powered by the Hi-Beat Caliber 9S86, the automatic model delivers exceptional accuracy and a robust 55-hour power reserve.
