Min. ReadHamilton’s iconic Khaki Field Murph returns, this time featuring a crisp white dial and a stainless steel bracelet option for the black dial variant. Known for its Hollywood fame, especially in Christopher Nolan’s "Interstellar," the Murph has become a beloved part of Hamilton’s history, combining cinematic heritage with practical design.
In "Interstellar," Cooper, a former NASA pilot, gifts his daughter Murphy a Hamilton watch before embarking on a space mission. The watch becomes a significant emotional and narrative element in the film. Since its release, the Murph has been cherished for its connection to the movie and its nostalgic, military-inspired design.
The new Khaki Field Murph 38mm models build on this legacy. Both feature stainless steel cases with a 38mm diameter, 11.1mm thickness, and 100m water resistance. The brushed case is complemented by a polished bezel and crown, while the 44.7mm lug-to-lug span ensures a comfortable fit.
The first novelty is the new “antique white” dial with a grained texture, matched with vintage-style beige Super-LumiNova hands and Arabic numerals. It is paired with a black leather strap featuring white stitching. The second model, identical to the 2022 black-dial version, now comes with a brushed 3-link stainless steel bracelet, adding versatility to its classic appeal.
Both watches are powered by the H-10 automatic movement, boasting an 80-hour power reserve, anti-magnetic Nivachron hairspring, and sapphire crystal caseback. The H-10, also known as the Powermatic 80, is based on the ETA 2824 but offers excellent price/performance ratio.
These new additions to the Khaki Field line reflect Hamilton’s commitment to durability, simplicity, and timeless design, appealing to both cinema enthusiasts and watch collectors alike.
