Hublot introduced a new model for its Spirit of Big Bang Collection that is added to its product line back in 2014. The model is limited to a span of 100 units and available at the Hublot Boutiques only.
The Spirit of the Big Bang model family, which is under the Big Bang Collection from the brand’s locomotive product lines, first appeared in the Hublot catalog in 2014. Despite the polarized reviews from the watch enthusiasts all over the world, the model family managed to be one of the four core collections of the brand.
“The new addition to the collection, Spirit of Big Bang Blue (Ref. 641.EX.5129.LR), brings together the blue concept inspired by the Mediterranean and the unique beauty of the Côtes d’Azur with the summer vibes.”
The model is offered in a Tonneau shaped case, which is a signature detail for the Spirit of Big Bang Collection. Measuring 42mm in diameter and 14.1mm in height, the multi-layer case offers a variety of materials in line with the brand’s Art of Fusion motto.
The main-body of the case and the bezel ae made of micro-blasted and polished blue ceramic. The bezel lugs and white lateral inserts in the sides of the case are made of composite resin. The signature 6 H-shaped screws, the crown and pushers that feature white rubber inserts are made of titanium, a classic material for Hublot.
The case is equipped with an anti-reflective coated scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front side and is water resistant to 100 meters / 10 bars. The case back also features a sapphire crystal display engraved with "Boutique Exclusive", which emphasizes that the model can only be bought from the brand’s boutiques.
The dial of the new model is made of clear sapphire crystal with Tri-Compax chronograph layout. Rhodium plated applique hour markers and hands are Super LumiNOVA applied for enhanced legibility under darker conditions. A skeleton style date disc through the window located between 4 and 5 o’clock shows the date feature. Hublot logo is applied on the sapphire crystal dial and located at 12 o’clock.
The new model is powered by the CHUB 4700 movement, which based on the legendary Caliber El Primero by Zenith, another watchmaker sharing the LVMH Group’s roof with Hublot. Self-winding Tri-Compax chronograph and date function movement beats at 36.000vph (hi-beat) and offers a power reserve of 50 hours when fully wound. The movement is COSC certified and visible through the sapphire crystal display case back.
Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Blue (Ref. 641.EX.5129.LR) comes with a white rubber-lined blue alligator strap, tailored to match with the concept’s overall color palette. The strap is secured with Hublot signed titanium folding clasp, which we are familiar with from many different models of the brand.
