Originally introduced in 2023, the Ingenieur Automatic 40 is inspired by the legendary Ingenieur SL, Reference 1832, designed by Gérald Genta in the 1970s. Combining bold aesthetic elements with cutting-edge re-engineering, the Ingenieur Automatic 40 delivers unmatched ergonomics and finishing. This new 18-carat 5N gold model (Ref. IW328702) complements the existing collection with its meticulously crafted case, bezel, bracelet links, and crown protection.
The Ingenieur Automatic 40's 40-mm case ensures excellent ergonomics and comfort, making it a perfect fit for everyday wear. The integrated bracelet, attached via middle links, wraps smoothly around the wrist, offering an exceptional fit. The bezel, secured by five functional screws, provides additional durability. The black dial features a “Grid” structure, adding depth and texture, while the appliques are made from solid 5N gold and set by hand. Both the appliques and the gold-plated hands are filled with Super-LumiNova®, ensuring excellent legibility in any lighting condition.
The 18-carat 5N gold case and integrated bracelet are finely finished, combining satin and polished surfaces for a striking visual effect. The bezel features satin finishing with polished outer edges, while the case back ring is fully polished. The H-links and centre links of the integrated bracelet are satin-finished, adding refinement and sophistication.
