Min. ReadJaeger-LeCoultre unveils a new generation of Duometre timepieces, including a reinterpretation of the Duometre Quantieme Lunaire, offered for the first time in steel with a striking blue dial.
This modern take on a classic design emphasizes the brand's commitment to precision and innovation. The Duometre mechanism, introduced in 2007, addressed the fundamental issue of complications disrupting the power supply, ensuring constant energy flow for precise timekeeping. Inspired by a 19th-century pocket watch with two barrels, Jaeger-LeCoultre's engineers refined the concept, separating power streams for timekeeping and complications.
The Duometre Quantieme Lunaire features a distinctive seconde foudroyante hand, rotating in one-second intervals for precise time measurement. The symmetrical dial layout, with three sub-dials forming an inverted pyramid, exudes elegance and balance. The dial's deep blue hue and various finishes create visual interest and contrast, reminiscent of historic sector dials.
The movement, visible through the transparent case-back, is meticulously finished with sunrayed Geneva stripes, showcasing Jaeger-LeCoultre's precision craftsmanship.
The new Duometre case, inspired by 19th-century savonette pocket watches, boasts rounded contours and a redesigned crown for enhanced usability. Its complex structure of 34 parts allows for multiple finishing techniques, resulting in a captivating interplay of light.
