Jaquet Droz, which is among the unique brands of the watchmaking industry with its automaton featured timepieces, introduced its latest collection inspired by the coming Chinese New Year of the Dog.

Peking Lion Dog (Pekingese)

The dog figure for the timepieces is based on the Peking Lion Dog -aka "Pekingese" which gave its name to the upcoming Chinese New Year of the Dog to start on 16th February.

The new model comes in two different versions both limited to 28 pieces only.  Offered in 18K pink or white gold options, the case measures 41mm in diameter and 13.7mm in height. The case is equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and it is water resistant to 30 meters. 18K white gold version is set with 272 pieces of diamonds.

Both versions are powered with the brand’s in-house movement Caliber 2653.P. 28 jewel self-winding movement beats at 28800vph and offers 68 hours of power reserve thanks to its double barrels. The movement features flat bridges and extensive decoration accompanied with a solid gold dog figure applied rotor visible through the sapphire crystal display caseback.

Both models come on hand-made black alligator strap and a buckle made of 18K gold in line with the case material.

The model is offered in two versions differentiating mainly with the case size as 39mm x 12.2mm and 35mm x 10.7mm. Both cases are equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and they are water resistant to 30 meters.35mm diameter version can be had with 232 pieces of diamonds.

The dial is ivory Grand Feu enamel finished with traditional Chinese painting techniques. The hands are 18K pink gold.

The models tick with the brand’s in-house Caliber 2653.P. as well. The self-winding movement attracts attention with its hand-crafted dog figure applies 22K solid gold oscillating rotor which can be enjoyed through the sapphire crystal display caseback.

The new models come on a hand-made brown alligator strap and 18K pink gold buckle.
