Introducing The New Joker Fiat Lux by Konstantin Chaykin

Renowned watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin, a member of the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI) since 2010, gained global fame with his Joker and Wristmons (Wrist Monsters) series in 2017. These unique timepieces, including The Clown and Pumpkin Head, blend serious watchmaking with playful designs. Limited production has made them highly collectible. The latest addition, the Joker Fiat Lux, showcases a partially skeletonized dial.

Maintaining the technical specifications of the original Joker, the new Joker Wristmon features a 42mm stainless steel case with a poker-themed bezel. It includes crowns at 3 o’clock for setting the time and 9 o’clock for adjusting the moon phase, whimsically displayed through a mouth-shaped aperture. A significant update is the exhibition caseback, secured by six screws, replacing the solid casebacks of earlier models. Both front and back sapphire crystals have an anti-reflective coating.

"Fiat Lux" translates from Latin to "let there be light," fitting for this openworked design. The dial is artistically skeletonized, featuring Clous de Paris guilloche decorations, silver plating, intricate coating, and multi-layered varnish. Unlike previous editions, the eyes are hollow, revealing much of the underlying mechanism.

The new Joker Fiat Lux is powered by a modified ETA 2824-2 with a proprietary 84-part module, the automatic K.07-0 calibre. It has a 38-hour power reserve and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The display caseback highlights the rotor, mirroring the wave-like skeletonized pattern on the dial.

This limited edition of 38 pieces comes with a black alligator leather strap with green calfskin lining and a pin buckle. It is exclusively available through West Wood Time in Beijing's Chaoyang District. Price upon request.
