Min. ReadLaco, founded in 1925, is famous for its aviation watches, particularly those designed for German Luftwaffe pilots. The Scorpion collection, however, shifts gears to offer a modern, durable dive watch suited for extreme environments, with water resistance up to 300 meters. Now available in sleek 39mm and 42mm black DLC-coated cases, these watches pair ruggedness with style, inspired by the scorpion’s tough, glowing exoskeleton.
The four Scorpion models – Himalaya, Mojave, Atlantik, and Amazonas – come in either 39mm or 42mm DLC-coated stainless steel, with 13mm and 13.4mm thicknesses, respectively. With a unidirectional rotating bezel featuring a ceramic insert, the first 15 minutes of the diving scale are accented in luminous colors like orange, blue, green, or white, depending on the model. The screw-down crown and caseback ensure water resistance of 300 meters, making it a solid companion for underwater adventures.
Distinctive Super-LumiNova accents enhance visibility, with bold Arabic numerals and rectangular blocks on the matte black dial. The color of the luminescent details on the bezel, minute hand, and indices at 12 and 6 o’clock matches the seconds hand and complements the overall aesthetic. A black date window at 3 o’clock and double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating complete the dial’s functional design.
Powering the Scorpion is the Laco 200 automatic movement, based on the Swiss Sellita SW200 elaboré grade, offering a 38-hour power reserve and precision timekeeping. The caseback features an engraved scorpion emblem, echoing the watch’s rugged persona.
Three strap options are available: a NATO-style rubber strap with matching lume, an all-black rubber strap, or a black DLC-coated stainless steel bracelet, providing versatile styling choices for any occasion.
