Longines, a locomotive brand not only for the Swatch Group to which it is affiliated, but for the entire Swiss watch industry, is the guest of our pages with the Longines Conquest VHP Chronograph (Ref. L3.727.4.66.6) model from the Longines Conquest VHP Collection featuring timepieces powered by V.H.P. (Very High Precision) Quartz movements.
The Longines Conquest VHP Collection, which is presented to watch enthusiasts with a special event that the brand has performed in Neuchatel-Switzerland in the past year and which was attended by our Editor in Chief Serdar OAL, is among the notable product groups of the brand with its rich alternatives consisting of three-hands and chronograph models.
Our choice from the collection that is the modern adaptation of the V.H.P. (Very High Precision) models which were first introduced in 1984 is the Longines Conquest VHP Chronograph (Ref.L3.727.4.66.6). The model attracts attention with its contemporary and sporty design.
The model is offered in a Conquest Collection style case measuring 44mm in diameter. The case, which combines both sporty and masculine lines in its design thanks to its strong lugs and polished bezel, is water resistant to 5 bars (50 meters). The case is equipped with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front face and a solid stainless steel caseback at the rear face. The signature details of the Conquest Collection like thick crown guards, unique winding crown design and wide rectangular chronograph pushers are present in this model as well.
One of the most remarkable parts of the Longines Conquest VHP Chronograph (Ref. L3.727.4.66.6) is its carbon dial. The classic Tri-Compax chronograph arrangement is preferred on the dial, which presents a very sporty image with the 3D effect of the carbon surface. The dial with a date window placed between 4 and 5 o’clock positions is accompanied by SuperLuminova-applied hour/minute hand and baton indices. The hour marker at 12 o’clock is preferred in large Arabic numerals where red accents are used including the V.H.P. logo.
The model is powered by the Longines Caliber L289 which works with an accuracy of ± 5 s per year. The movement is also equipped “Gear Position Detection (GPD)" system developed against any impact or magnetic exposure.
The Longines Conquest VHP Chronograph (Ref.L3.727.4.66.6) is offered on a stainless-steel bracelet which perfectly suits with the sporty character of the model. The bracelet is secured with a Longines signed push button release folding clasp made of stainless steel.
