Min. ReadThe MeisterSinger Bell Hora Edition Notre Dame celebrates the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in December, honoring its iconic Gothic rose windows with a limited 70-piece timepiece.
Known for its single-hand display, MeisterSinger often surprises with sophisticated complications. The Bell Hora, a sonnerie au passage introduced in 2021, chimes every hour, echoing the cathedral bells of the past. This latest edition, created in partnership with Parisian retailer Ocarat, features a dial inspired by Notre Dame’s stained glass rose windows.
Taking inspiration from medieval tower clocks and the tradition of hourly chimes, the Bell Hora’s single-hand display complements its unique chiming feature. The watch’s design pays homage to Notre Dame's artistry with a sandstone-colored dial and intricate tracery that mimics the cathedral's 13th-century rose windows. Blue printed hour markers encircle the dial, pointed to by a central white hand with a red-tipped counterweight.
The Bell Hora Edition Notre Dame is housed in a 42mm stainless steel case, with a thickness of 12.95mm. It features both polished and brushed finishes. A pusher above the crown allows wearers to silence the chime, indicated by a black ring when deactivated.
On the reverse, the exhibition caseback reveals another rose window motif alongside the automatic movement. The watch uses the Sellita SW200 movement, adapted with MeisterSinger’s jumping hour module to activate the chime at every passing hour. It offers a power reserve of 38 hours.
Limited to just 70 pieces, the watch comes on a handcrafted cowhide strap, tanned with oak bark and hand-dyed.
