Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Mount Vinson Limited Edition

Montblanc introduces the latest addition to its Geosphere collection, the 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Mount Vinson Limited Edition, honoring legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner’s ascent of Antarctica’s highest peak. This timepiece is part of the brand’s ongoing tribute to exploration and extreme adventures.  

Limited to 986 pieces, the watch commemorates Messner’s 1986 climb of Mount Vinson, which completed his Seven Summits Challenge—a feat achieved by only about 500 climbers worldwide. The 43.5mm titanium case is enhanced with an innovative composite middle case, crafted from quartz fibers, aluminized basalt fibers, CaCO3, and light blue resin, designed to resemble Antarctica’s ancient glaciers. A luminous Mount Vinson engraving on the left side adds to the adventurous aesthetic. 

The glacier-inspired dial features a blue-green and light grey gratté-boisé texture, requiring over 30 steps to complete. A light grey anodized aluminum bezel with blue luminescent cardinal points enhances its readability. 

Equipped with Montblanc’s Zero Oxygen Technology, the watch eliminates fogging caused by temperature changes and prevents oxidation, ensuring long-term precision. The timepiece is powered by the Caliber MB 29.25 automatic movement, featuring a worldtime complication with two rotating hemispheres, a dual-time function, and a date display at 3 o’clock. The Northern Hemisphere globe highlights Messner’s Seven Summits and Mont Blanc. 

The caseback showcases a laser-engraved 3D depiction of Mount Vinson, using Montblanc’s advanced oxidation technique for a lifelike effect. Completing the watch is a newly designed rubber strap featuring a mountaineer’s rope motif, breathable texture, and a fine adjustment system. This edition exemplifies Montblanc’s commitment to innovation, adventure, and high-performance watchmaking.
