The newest member of the Luminor Sealand family, inspired by the ancient Chinese calendar, is preparing to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Pig. With a special technique called Sparsello applied by Italian craftsmen, only 88 pieces of watches will produced.
The tenth version of the Panerai Luminor Sealand models(the series first started in 2009), will meet the watch enthusiasts to celebrate the Year Of The Pig, which will begin on February 5, 2019 referring to the ancient Chinese calendar. The pig has the meaning of seeing the good side of every event, avoiding bigoted thoughts, pride, will and easy money avoidance.
The models are equipped with covers decorated with Sparsello technique. The steel surfaces are scraped, then the lines are filled with gold. Since each of the 88 pieces are exclusively handcrafted, there are slight differences in each model that can be noticed upon a careful inspection only.
When the engraved top covers of the models with 44mm diameter stainless steel cases are lift, you see the gray dial and the indexes filled with Super LumiNOVA. At the heart of the models with sapphire crystals and a water resistance values of 100 meters, is the manufacture Caliber P.9010. 31 jewels, self-winding movement beats at 28.800vph, has a date function and offers a power reserve of 72 hours when fully wound.
Officine Panerai Luminor Sealand PAM00859 - Year Of The Pig comes with a soft brown leather strap and a black rubber strap. There is also a strap changing tool is added to the box set. The model will be available only through Panerai boutiques located around.
