Omega, introduced a limited edition version of its highly acclaimed Planet Ocean Co-Axial Master Chronometer exclusively designed for the world famous swimmer Michael Phelps.
The new timepiece is a tribute to the American swimming legend, Michael Phelps. Known as one of the most successful Olympians of all times, Phelps is a long time Seamaster fan and has been participated in many events as Omega’s guest of honor.
The model is offered in a stainless steel case measuring 45.5mm in diameter. Equipped with a blue ceramic bezel featuring an orange color rubber insert, the case is water resistant to 600 meters. The case sports double AR coated sapphire crystals on both sides and a laser engraved Michael Phelps logo on the caseback.
The dial of the model is made of white ceramic with blued hands and indices. The hour marker at 12 o’clock is designed in Arabic numeral style and finished in blue.
The new model is powered by the in-house Caliber Ref. 9900. 54 jewels self-winding movement beats at 28800vph and offers a power reserve of 60 hours when fully wound. Master Chronometer approved by METAS, the movement is equipped with a silicon balance spring and a pair of barrels. Functions are: central hour, minute and chronograph seconds hands, small seconds hand, 12-hour and 60-minute recorders.
The model is offered on a 22mm blue rubber strap with a blue-orange rubber underside and orange contrast stitching. The strap is secured by an Omega signed folding clasp made of stainless steel.
Omega Planet Ocean Co-Axial Master Chronometer Michael Phelps is limited to 280 units only and retails for US$8,200 (US list).
