Patek Philippe Nautilus Annual Calendar 5726/1A

The legend of Nautilus, which has been going on since 1976, continues with a new stainless steel model equipped with an annual calendar movement. Introduced at this year’s Baselworld trade show, the new model is already among the brand’s modern classics.

If you tell the name of the brand that owns the king’s crown when it is about stainless steel luxury sports watches, your answer is right but not complete. Although the times when four models developed under the leadership of Gerald Genta were over, one of them seems to have increased in popularity every passing day. Patek Philippe Nautilus, the leading man of our story, seems to be taking its share of this popularity with the new stainless steel case (and bracelet) Annual Calendar model.

The Nautilus 5726 / 1A comes in a stainless steel case measuring 40.5mm x 11.3mm. There is only one word that can be said for the workmanship of polished and brushed surfaces of the case: perfect. However, the price of this perfection is being prior to scratches. The fascinating beauty of the dial and the movement is enjoyed through the sapphire crystals on both sides of the case. Inspired by a porthole, the stainless steel case is water resistant to 120 meters like the other models in the series.

Due to the Annual Calendar feature, we have a moderately busy dial. Functions such as month, day, date, moon phase and am/pm information can be monitored through the dial.

The model is powered by the fully manufacture Caliber 324 S QA LU 24H/303. Self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of up to 45 hours when fully wound. 34 jewels/347 parts movement hosts an annual calendar complication that needs to be set only once a year (in February). Certified with the Patek Philippe Seal, the accuracy of the movement is + 3 / -2 seconds per day.

The build quality and finishing of the integrated stainless steel bracelet is no less than the rest of the watch. The exclusive feeling that you have when you put the watch on your wrist is another detail that shows the Patek Philippe expertise. The bracelet, which features both satin brushed and mirror.

The list price of Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726A is € 41,320. If you can find one, of course...
