Rado Captain Cook Automatic

Rado’s iconic Captain Cook diver returns with a fresh, summer-ready look. Originally launched in 1962 and revived in 2017, this latest model nods to tennis with three versatile straps for a dynamic change in style. It's not the brand’s first foray into the sport, following the Cameron Norrie Limited Edition, but this new variant stands out with a striking gradient dial and the core features that define a Captain Cook.

The stainless steel case measures 42mm in diameter and 12.3mm in height, maintaining a modern presence compared to the original 37mm version. Polished surfaces adorn the case, crown, and bezel. The bezel itself is a polished blue high-tech ceramic insert with a diver’s scale engraved in white Super-LumiNova. A retro box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the dial, while the sapphire exhibition case back provides a view of the movement. Water resistance is rated at an impressive 300 meters.

The standout feature of this model is the three-strap option: a brushed and polished steel bracelet with a titanium clasp, a blue leather strap with an extendable clasp, and a blue/white textile NATO strap. This versatility allows the watch to adapt to any occasion, whether it’s for everyday wear or more sporty activities.

The dial showcases a white-to-blue gradient effect, complemented by a yellow minute/seconds track along the outer blue flange. The signature moving Rado anchor sits at 12 o’clock against a purple background, while the seconds hand features yellow Super-LumiNova, a playful nod to tennis balls. The applied indices and hands are coated in white Super-LumiNova, with the hour hand sporting the iconic Captain Cook arrow tip.

Powered by the Rado R763 automatic movement, based on the ETA C07.611, the watch offers an 80-hour power reserve, 25 jewels, and operates at 3Hz. The watch is delivered in a blue leather pouch with all three straps included.
