A head of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Roger Dubuis unveils a striking Verde Mantis edition of its Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph, celebrating its ongoing partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. This limited edition pays homage to Lamborghini’s SC63 hypercar, set to debut in the Le Mans Daytona Hybrid Series.
Ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Roger Dubuis unveils a striking Verde Mantis edition of its Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph, celebrating its ongoing partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. This limited edition pays homage to Lamborghini’s SC63 hypercar, set to debut in the Le Mans Daytona Hybrid Series.
A standout feature of this chronograph is its integrated movement, visible through the dial. This exposed mechanism displays intricate details such as the column wheel, tilted balance wheel, and twin barrels. The symmetrical bridge is adorned with three green bars and luminous inserts, mimicking the SC63’s Y-shaped headlights.
The dial’s two-level flange sports a red and green minutes/seconds track, white luminescent hour markers, and a tachymeter scale. The chronograph’s elapsed times are indicated by a 120º rotating minutes counter at 3 o’clock, with a tripartite hand and green lacquered numerals. The hour and minute hands are white gold with luminescent red tips, while the central chronograph seconds hand is red. A discreet double-digit date aperture sits at 6 o’clock.
Housed in a 45mm lightweight grey carbon case with a green-accented ceramic bezel, the chronograph is 17.13mm thick and water-resistant to 100m. Calibre RD780 automatic movement operates at 4Hz and offers a 72-hour power reserve, all while boasting Poinçon de Genève certification for top-tier finishing.
The watch is completed with a sporty black rubber strap featuring a Verde Mantis inlay and a triple-folding clasp. Limited to 88 pieces, this Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph is a tribute to both high-performance engineering and cutting-edge horology.
