The Seiko Presage Style60s collection, inspired by the 1960s, continues to grow in popularity. The new SRPL07 and SRPL09 models enhance this line with a refined smaller case, a stylish new bracelet, and a fixed bezel. These timepieces stand out with their unique dial colors and boxed-shape crystals, now made of Seiko's durable Hardlex. These additions bring a fresh and elegant style to Seiko's portfolio.
Seiko’s Presage collection showcases Japanese design and mechanical expertise at an affordable price. The collection ranges from the sophisticated Presage Cocktail Time Star Bar to the distinctive Presage Kintaro Hattori models. First introduced in the 1960s, the Presage line maintains a retro aesthetic, with the Style60s series specifically inspired by the 1964 Crown Chronograph, Seiko’s first chronograph. This inspiration is evident in the boxed-shaped crystals, sharp hands, and faceted indices. Launched in 2021, the Style60s line includes more than just chronographs, with the original 1964 piece serving as a foundational design.
The stainless-steel case of the new models is compact at 39.5mm in diameter and 12mm in height. The 60-minute fixed steel bezel has a refined texture, enhancing the overall aesthetic. The boxed-shaped Hardlex crystal, sharp dauphine hands, and faceted indices adhere to the Style60s design code. The SRPL07 features a sunburst blue dial, while the SRPL09 has a brown dial, both with a tasteful black round date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. The contemporary exhibition case back offers a view of the movement, with water resistance rated at 50 meters.
Both models are powered by the in-house caliber 4R35 automatic movement. This reliable movement features 23 jewels, a beat rate of 21,600vph (3Hz), and a power reserve of 40 hours. Functions include central hours, minutes, hacking seconds, and date, with accuracy rated at +45/-35 seconds per day, though it usually performs better.
The new steel bracelet mimics a five-piece design but is actually three pieces, with a brushed center section and polished vertical pieces for a cool retro look. It features a compact push-button folding clasp, adding to its stylish appeal.
