Speake Marin Unveils Vibrant Dual-Time Model for Summer 2024
Speake Marin has breathed new life into its One & Two Dual Time Openworked model, originally released in 2019. Known for its sophisticated GMT functions, retrograde date, and distinctive Piccadilly case, this timepiece now features vibrant terracotta-orange tones for summer 2024.
Building on its earlier iterations, which included a more muted palette and rose gold case, the brand introduced contemporary colors and materials. Following the 2021 black DLC case with mint accents and the 2022 acid lime green version, this latest model continues the trend with a striking new look.
A signature element of Speake Marin’s design is the drum-shaped Piccadilly case, featuring an oversized fluted crown and straight lugs. The new Openworked Dual Time comes in titanium with polished surfaces and a brushed case middle, available in both 38mm and 42mm diameters, each with a height of 12.35mm.
The open-worked dial showcases a conservative take on skeletonization, enhanced by the bright terracotta main plate and multilevel indications. The small seconds counter at 1:30 has an orange frosted finish with grey markings and blue-emission Super-LumiNova applied at 5-second intervals. A horseshoe-shaped track surrounding the small seconds displays the retrograde date.
Rhodium-plated bridges for the barrel and rotor, with micro-blasted finishes and mirror-polished bevels, flank the date display. The two-tone GMT indicator, with a 24-hour scale, is suspended over the micro-rotor aperture. Nighttime readings appear in the black areas with grey numerals, while daytime readings are in the silvery-colored area with orange numerals.
Adding to the watch's charm, Super-LumiNova is applied in different colors. The second time zone glows with orange-emission Super-LumiNova, while the local time is indicated by Big Ben-style hands treated with blue-emission SLN.
Powered by the brand’s proprietary SMA02 caliber, designed and manufactured in-house, the movement runs at 4Hz and offers a 52-hour power reserve. The exhibition case back reveals Geneva stripes on the bridges and the micro-rotor with an orange topping tool.
Completing its contemporary appeal, the Dual Time comes with a white rubber strap and titanium pin buckle. The 38mm titanium case retails for CHF 31,900 (excl. tax) and the 42mm case for CHF 32,400 (excl. tax). For more information, visit (http://speake-marin.com).
