TAG Heuer introduced a new version of its highly appreciated Autavia Collection that is designed to commemorate the legendary Formula 1 pilot Jo Siffert. The model is designed in collaboration with the famous Australia based web site Calibre 11 specializing on Heuer/TAG Heuer timepieces.
The new model is named after the famous Formula 1 driver Jo Siffert, who won several races in the late 1960s before being killed in a tragic crash in 1971. The new timepiece is inspired by the original Heuer Autavia “Siffert” model which is known with its characteristic combination of white dial, black registers and blue accents making it one of the most desirable and valuable vintage Heuer watches.
Heuer Autavia Siffert 73663 - 1163T
Jo Siffert (7 Temmuz 1936 – 24 Ekim 1971)
The model is based on TAG Heuer‘s current Autavia model (which is also based on another vintage Heuer -the Autavia “Rindt” Ref. 2446) sporting the classic Siffert colors along with a rotating minute bezel. The dial has a smooth white finish with the counters are finished in contrasting black. Characteristic blue tone is used for the central second hand as well as the hour markers. In line with the model’s retro appearance, the dial sports the classic brand logo and model name at 12 o’clock only.
TAG Heuer Autavia Jo Siffert Collector’s Edition is offered in the same stainless steel case as the ordinary model measuring 42mm in diameter. The model is powered by the in-house Caliber Heuer-02 which is visible through the grey tinted sapphire crystal caseback printed with Jo Siffert’s signature.
The new model is presented in a special box with Siffert’s signature, along with both a “beads of rice” steel bracelet and seamless, retro leather strap exclusively designed for this edition.
TAG Heuer Autavia Jo Siffert Collector’s Edition is available exclusively on Calibre 11. The watches are numbered from one to 100, and priced at SFr5600, which is also the MSRP of standard Autavia model.
