Velvet Ribbon by Roger Dubuis

Mostly focused on women’s models regarding 2016 novelties, Roger Dubuis is under the loupe by its latest member of Velvet Ribbon Collection which was released at the SIHH 2016 exhibition first.

First released at the SIHH exhibition in 2016, Roger Dubuis’ Velvet Ribbon Collection combines traditional high-end watchmaking and beautifully crafted jewelry-making. The spectacular novelties are offered in unique “trompe l’oeil” type cases blending tonneau and circular shapes, accompanied with multi surface dials making striking reflections and one of its kind gem-set central lugs.

Velvet Ribbon raises the bar by bringing together the strict standards of Poinçon de Genève certification with a superior craftsmanship and design for “haute joaillerie”. Elegant but undeniably dazzling, the new models express a certain glitter which would be shared by their discriminating owners.

The two new creations, completing the trilogy, are issued in limited editions featuring the Roger Dubuis lucky number No.8.

The new Velvet Ribbon watch features 385 gemstones totaling approx. 8.67 carats. It has a 36mm case made of 18K white gold with decorative lugs are completely gem-set with baguette-cut diamonds which provide a powerful contrast with the brilliant-cut diamonds dressing up the inner rehaut and ribbons. The adjustable folding clasp made of 18K is also set with brilliant-cut diamonds, expressing Roger Dubuis’ pledge for superior craftsmanship and glamour in every detail.

The glittering mother-of-pearl dial is quite noticeable with its trade mark Roman numerals, keeping time displayed by the brand’s in-house movement Caliber Ref. RD821 – a self-winding mechanical caliber featuring Poinçon de Genève certificate.

Offered in a limited edition of 88 pieces only, the Velvet Ribbon symbolizes the elegant and refined character of the brand’s women admirers. Roger Dubuis Velvet Ribbon also adorns the neckline with a stunning pearl necklace composed of Akoya pearls and onyx beads.
