A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Up/Down “Lumen” (Ref. 405.034)

A. Lange & Söhne, one of the most important representatives of German watchmaking in the champions’ league, introduced a new limited edition model, Datograph Up/Down Lumen (Ref. 405.034). The model from the brand’s iconic Datograph series draws attention with its highly effective green phosphor.

The Datograph model family is present in the brand’s catalogues since 1999. The model family, which succeeded to be among the cult models of luxury watchmaker with its unique display style and precise German engineering in almost every detail. Today, Datograph is shown as the most important product group of the brand.

The new A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Up/Down “Lumen” (Ref. 405.034) model on the other hand is based on the brand’s Datograph Up/Down model, which was introduced back in 2012. Technically the same with the standard version, the new model is equipped with a highly effective glow in the dark feature.

The new model comes in a solid platinum case measuring 41mm in diameter and 13.4mm in height. The case is equipped with anti-glare coated scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides.

Dial design is where the new model is differentiated from the standard Datograph Up/Down version. Offering a similar lay-out, the new model’s dial is made of smoked sapphire crystal which offers the transparency required for the extensive glow in dark environments. Being the fourth model in the brand’s glow in the dark concept, the timepiece shines like a green lantern thanks to the semi-transparent dial and extensive Super LumiNOVA application including the chronograph sub-dials as well as the hands and indices.

A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Up/Down “Lumen” (Ref. 405.034) is powered by the brand’s manufacture movement Caliber Ref. L951.7. Composed of 454 individual parts (46 jewels and 4 gold chatons), the hand-wound movement beats at a frequency of 18.000vph and offers a power reserve of 60 hours when fully wound. Featuring the brand classic German silver base plate, the movement is packed with multiple functions like time indicated in hours, minutes and subsidiary seconds with stop seconds, Flyback chronograph with precisely jumping minute counter, power-reserve indicator, outsize date and is visible through the sapphire crystal display case back.

The new model is offered on a hand-stitched black alligator strap that is secured by ALS signed prong buckle in platinum. A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Up/Down “Lumen” (Ref. 405.034) is limited to a span of 200 units only with a MSRP of € 95,000.
