Audemars Piguet Launches the Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon Chronograph in New Shades of Grey

Audemars Piguet’s Code 11.59 collection, which debuted in 2020, continues to impress with its latest Flying Tourbillon Chronograph. This new edition features a sophisticated two-tone case combining white gold and black ceramic, along with an openworked movement in various shades of grey.

The 41mm case, with a thickness of 13.8mm, presents a complex design. It draws inspiration from the Royal Oak, featuring an octagonal middle case made of high-tech black ceramic with a satin-brushed finish. The bezel, lugs, pushers, and crown are crafted from white gold with brushed surfaces and polished edges. The crown includes a black ceramic grip, and the strap is dark grey, rubber-coated with a textile pattern for added sportiness.

Visual appeal is enhanced by the slim bezel and double-curved sapphire crystal. The dial’s symmetry is highlighted by a network of bridges supporting the calibre 2952 components. The slate grey rounded bezel features circular snailing and a white seconds track, contrasting sharply with the blackened mainplate and rhodium-plated bridges. The large 60-minute flying tourbillon is prominently displayed at 6 o’clock, flanked by two sub-dials (12h and 30-min totalisers) at 3 and 9 o’clock. A black barrel bridge at noon enhances the watch’s visual balance.

The pink gold hour and minute hands, which are thicker and semi-openworked with luminescent tips, align with the 2023 facelift of the stainless steel models. The central chronograph seconds hand retains its circular counterweight, and additional pink gold accents are found on the sub-dials and balance wheel. The movement showcases over 100 hand-polished inner angles, combined with satin-brushed and sandblasted finishes.

On the reverse, the calibre 2952’s rhodium-toned pink gold rotor is visible. This column-wheel automatic chronograph with flyback functionality runs at 3 Hz and offers a 65-hour power reserve.
