Baume & Mercier attracted a great deal of attention with its Clifton Baumatic Perpetual Calendar model powered by a manufacture movement.
Announced the beginning of a new era with the first manufacture Baumatic movement last year, the brand is proud to introduce its flagship model; Clifton Baumatic Perpetual Calendar. Despite being one of the most well-established brands in the Swiss Watchmaking Industry, Baume & Mercier is a brand known for its collections with entry-level and mid-level models, often powered by ETA and Sellita-based movements.
The new model comes in an 18K pink gold case, an excellent choice for a major complication like the Perpetual Calendar. There are sapphire crystal glasses on both sides of the case which can be considered as compact as per its segment with a diameter of 42mm and a height of 12.1mm.
The model's dial is made in a porcelain-white tone that resembles vintage watches. The faceted applique hour markers and leaf-shaped hands are effortlessly display all the functions with a clean lay-out. It is inevitable that the dial with four different sub-displays, one of which is a moon phase indicator, will satisfy symmetry addicted watch enthusiasts like me.
The new model is powered by the brand’s manufacture movement Baumatic BM13-1975AC-1. COSC certified self-winding movement is anti-magnetic to fields of 1,500 gauss . Features are hours, minutes, central seconds, perpetual calendar and moon phase indicator as well as a whopping 120 hours / 5 days power reserve.
Offered on a soft black alligator strap secured by an 18K pink gold pin buckle, the model’s MSRP is not announced yet.
