Breitling, which has opened a new chapter under the management of Georges Kern among the doyens of the luxury watchmaking industry with a surprise move in recent years, introduced its new model family, Premier Collection.
The new collection, which was presented to the appreciation of the watch lovers recently, takes its name from the Premier model that the brand added to its product group in the 1940s. Made its last appearance in the Breitling catalogs in the late 1990s, the model family now comes in a completely renewed form.
Another new product group introduced under the management of Georges Kern, the experienced name brought to the head of Breitling with a move that surprised the watch industry, the Premier Collection is a good example for the brand’s recent renewal movement. Kern, who is determined to push Breitling away from exaggerated designs, oversized cases and shiny bracelets, seems to have achieved to bring a new breath to the brand, with his style that is also competitive in the price range as well.
In the newly introduced collection, there are 10 different models, including a model exclusively designed for Bentley, luxury car manufacturer and Breitling’s long-time brand partner. The models, which are distinguished from each other with their both functional and aesthetic features, are offered in moderately sized 40 and 42mm stainless steel cases. Featuring large lugs and polished smooth bezels, the cases’ design successfully highlights the new collection’s Retro inspired character. The cases are equipped with scratch resistant domed sapphire crystals on front sides and a pair of rectangular shaped vintage looking pushers (the latter for chronograph models only). Premier B01 Chronoraph (and for Bentley version) comes with a sapphire crystal display case back.
The model family’s dial designs also feature vintage influences. In the dials with Sun Ray backgrounds, there are a wide variety of color options, including a black / white version, called Reverse Panda, which is one of the favorite color combinations for watch enthusiasts. The dials are accompanied with baton style hands and indices that are equipped with Super LumiNOVA phosphor material for optimum legibility under darker environments.
All the models in the new collection are powered with COSC certified self-winding mechanical movements with different features including the brand’s manufacture movement Caliber Ref. B01.
Base versions of the Premier Collection models come with calf straps and Breitling signed stainless steel standard buckles. The recommended list prices for these base versions of the Model family range from $ 4450, 00 to $ 8700, 00. The models in the collection are also offered with strap/bracelet/clasp options available with below given additional prices;
