Chopard L.U.C Chrono One Flyback (Ref. 168596-3002), which was introduced to the watch enthusiasts at the Baselworld 2019 trade show, attracts attention with its Titalyt case material that the brand has brought back to its agenda after a long time.
Chopard, which has a long history in both traditional watchmaking and jewelry, is one of the leading names in luxury consumption today. The models prepared by the brand for the Mille Miglia race, which is well known by motorsports enthusiasts all over the world, continue to be appreciated. The brand continues to follow the steps of its visionary founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard with the collection bearing the same name, presents its expertise in the luxury watchmaking business.
The model we chose from the L.U.C Collection is the L.U.C Chrono One Flyback (Ref. 168596-3002), which was among the brand’s Baselworld 2019 novelties.
Chopard L.U.C Chrono One Flyback (Ref. 168596-3002) comes in a 42mm wide and 13.42mm thick case. Optimally sized considering today’s standards for a men’s sports-chronograph watch, the case feels compact and comfortable on the wrist. The main reason for that is the material used to manufacture the case, Titalyt, which is a patented super-lightweight titanium alloy. Although Titalyt may seem like a brand new material at first glance, it was actually used for the first time by Chopard in the L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon model introduced in 2011.
The components of the case, such as the case back, winding crown and chronograph pushers, are also made of Titalyt. The micro-sandblasting finish and the khaki green color gives the model both a retro and a sporty character. The case is equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and is water resistant to 100 meters / 10 bars.
The dial is also made in the same khaki green tone. The Tri-Compax chronograph sub-dials adorned with rhodium-plated bezels were accompanied by hands and hour markers made from the same material. The window for the date display is located between 4 and 5 o'clock.
Chopard L.U.C Chrono One Flyback (Ref. 168596-3002) is powered by the fully manufacture Caliber L.U.C 03.03-L. 45 jewels/359 part self-winding Flyback chronograph with date function movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 60 hours when fully wound. C.O.S.C certified movements Côtes de Genève decorated bridges and 22K solid gold perforated oscillating rotor is enjoyed through the sapphire crystal display case back.
The model comes on an aged-look brown calf strap that is secured by a folding clasp made of Titalyt.
