We put our hands on the magnificent HUBLOT Classic Fusion Chronograph Bodrum Blue Titanium which is highly praised of it’s beautiful Bodrum Blue dial.
Before I start writing about arguably the most striking part of the watch, “the dial”, I would like to give some information first.
Hublot lately became one of the most successful brands of Hi-End watch making thanks to it’s highly appreciated Big Bang product group and a vast variety of special/limited editions. Especially boosting it’s popularity among the luxury watches’ league, the brands success widely relies on the man behind the name: Biver
The starting point of Hublot’s cult design Classic Fusion Series is sharing the back bone position of the brand with the Big Bang product group.
Including lately added larger size versions regarding the oversized watch trend, Classic Fusion series is considered to be having the most refined models among the entire collection.
The watch that we are about to put our humble hands on is Classic Fusion Chronograph Bodrum Blue Titanium.
The case is made of titanium. As a pioneering brand for the alternative materials’ use in modern watch making, we all know that the perfect finishing of the case is no coincidence.
The 45mm diameter case employs a combination of satin brushed and finished surfaces. Especially having impeccably finished brushed to polished border lines, the watch offers optimum wearing comfort due to the Titanium.
Straight and cubic shaped lugs feature a pair of screws which became the brand’s symbol.
Bezel designed in satin brushed form which also dominates the case in general. Considering titanium being prone to scratches in daily use, satin brush proves to be the right choice for bezel’s finishing together with the sportive looking aesthetics.
Classic H shaped screws are also present on the bezel as well.
Hublot decided to use rectangular shape chronograph pushers which are slightly rounded at the edges. The screw down crown’s design perfectly blends with the rest of the watch while being compact but practical as well.
The watch has sapphire crystals on both sides. Front crystal sits flush with the bezel making it a bit prone scratches. The stunning caliber can be seen through the transparent case back.
Let’s get to the dial. Named after the world famous holiday resort of Turkey – Bodrum’s deep blue sea, the dial is an absolute striking beauty.
Designed in classic bi-compax lay out, the dial features matt black sub dials for chronograph function which suits with the Bodrum Blue color while offering enough difference with the back ground.
Delivering several tones of blue under different angles of light, the dial is undoubtedly one of the best dials of Hublot.
Baton type markers offer nice and simple look. The date display is located at 6 o’clock position. Thanks to the date disk with white over black color combo, the complete look of the dial is preserved.
SuperLuminova is efficient enough for dark environments.
The watch is powered by the in-house caliber HUB1143. Bi-Compax automatic chronograph caliber offers 42h power reserve when fully wound.
The watch comes on a beautiful strap. The upper side of the strap is made of alligator leather in blue which matches the watch nicely. The lining part is made vulcanized rubber which offers utmost wearing comfort on hot summer days and acts as a safety feature against aging of the strap.
The folding clasp is made of stainless steel in a matching form with the rest of the watch. Featuring the Hublot engraving and a pair of H shaped screws, the clasp offers optimum comfort with neat looks.
The model Classic Fusion Chronograph Bodrum Blue, which stands out within the other Turkish themed watches of Hublot with it’s beautiful blue dial, also has a 18K Magic Gold version.
The titanium model is limited to 100 pieces and 18K gold model is limited to 50 pieces only.
We strongly suggest you to stop by the Hublot Boutique and have a close look at the model.
