TAG Heuer, known with its motorsports connection, introduced the second model, TAG Heuer x Fragment Design Heuer 02 Automatic Chronograph, which was born in collaboration with Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, nicknamed 'Godfather of Streetwear'.
The Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, known with the nickname "Godfather of Streetwear", established the multi-disciplinary brand Fragment Design in 2003. Fujiwara, who has been cooperating with many big brands and names in the fields of fashion, design, and art since then, introduced a vintage-inspired, black dial Carrera model in its first partnership with TAG Heuer.
The second outcome of this partnership, the new TAG Heuer x Fragment Design, comes in a 44mm stainless steel case shares similar details with the C-case models in the second generation Autavia watches, inspired by the motor racing of the 1960s and 70s. Brushed surfaces are accompanied by polished accents on both sides of the lugs in this C case. The case is resistant to water pressure up to 100 meters and has sapphire crystals on the front and back. The rear display is designed in Fujiwara's signature red color. Also, similar to those found in Formula 1 watches, the bezel has black ceramic notches.
The model’s dial features only the essential elements needed to read the time. The black opaline dial is embellished with white and red markers. The lightning-shaped logo is located at 10 o’clock and the text “FRAGMENT” is at 5 o'clock. The dial design is also inspired by the 1970s Autavia.
