H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Tourbillon & Pioneer Centre Seconds New Models

H. Moser & Cie, who made a very productive start to 2019, was once again in front of the watch enthusiasts with two new models added to the Pioneer Collection. New models were introduced at the Miami Watch Week event held in the USA.

While the newly introduced models carry the essential characteristics of the Pioneer model family, they are home to a special material that is a first for the brand. Both models are offered in modular cases made of 5N pink gold and black DLC coated titanium. Titanium is used in the central part of the case while the two lateral parts and the bezel are made of pink gold. The winding crown is also DLC coated.

Both models are designed with a diameter of 42.8mm. The Center Seconds model has a height of 10.6mm, while the Tourbillon model has a height of 10.8mm. Although the diameter is slightly oversized, it is likely that both models will have a balanced and comfortable posture on the wrist thanks to the short lug design. The cases are water-resistant to 120m like the previous versions in the collection and these models are worn on perforated black rubber straps with a 5N red gold pin buckle (Center Seconds) or a folding clasp (Tourbillon).

Another new feature is the dial colors. Both models carry fumé blue-colored dials from the brand’s signature details. These dials are initially decorated with sunray pattern and later finished in gradient midnight blue tone getting darker from the center, which creates an elegant contrast with the vivid tone of pink gold. The arms and indices that accompany the dials are also pink gold.

Pioneer Center Seconds beats with the manufacture Caliber HMC 200. 3 days power reserve self-winding movement is equipped with a Straumann hairspring and the brand’s patented interchangeable regulating organ. The finishing, which can be enjoyed through the sapphire crystal case back, is beautiful as expected with Moser stripes and polished bevels.

The flagship Pioneer Tourbillon model is powered by the Caliber HMC 804, is manufacture as well and based on the 3-hander seen above. Self-winding movement has a 3-day power reserve and the brand’s interchangeable regulating organ. The decoration is superior and includes an 18K pink gold oscillating rotor.
