Jacob & Co. Introduces a Sleeker Oil Pump Tourbillon Watch

Jacob & Co. is known for its extravagant, bold designs that redefine luxury, and their latest Oil Pump Tourbillon is no exception. First launched in 2019, this model blends the art of horology with entertainment by recreating an oil extraction scene on the wrist.

The updated Oil Pump features a 44mm x 18mm rose gold case, a significant reduction from the original’s larger size. The dial showcases a detailed automaton with two gold-plated derricks, intricate gold piping, an oil gauge indicating the power reserve, and a reservoir tank. The time is displayed at 4 o’clock, alongside the tourbillon, which rotates once every minute.

The hand-wound JCAM53 movement drives this watch, comprising 450 components and 55 jewels, with a frequency of 21,600vph and a power reserve of 72 hours. The highlight of this version is the switch from a double-axis tourbillon to a space-saving single-axis flying tourbillon, which maintains precision while allowing the case to shrink in size.

For added flair, the oil pump animation can be activated with a pusher at 1:30, running a 35-second show on demand. Complete with a black alligator strap and an 18k rose gold/titanium folding clasp, this limited edition is available in just 99 pieces. Price: USD 280,000.
