Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to honor the legendary Reverso with two stunning new editions of the Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds. These models bring the watch’s iconic Art Deco design into the present day, blending classic elegance with modern functionality. Now available in striking black or blue dials, the new Reverso Tribute models pay tribute to the vibrant colored dials that graced the earliest Reverso watches from the 1930s.
Launched in 1931, the Reverso was born from a challenge faced by British officers playing polo in India. They needed a timepiece that could withstand the sport's physical demands. The solution was the Reverso – a timepiece designed with a unique swiveling case, allowing the dial to be protected during intense matches. Over time, the Reverso evolved from a functional sports watch into a versatile symbol of luxury, crossing both gender and stylistic boundaries while retaining its original double-sided case and Art Deco aesthetics.
In the 1990s, the Reverso embraced mechanical complications, including the introduction of the Duoface in 1994. This innovative design used the reverse side of the case to feature a second dial, offering both a visual contrast and different functions for the front and back. The 2025 Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds now adds an extra dimension to this legacy, with one dial displaying a second time zone and the other a 24-hour display.
The Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds blends timeless design with modern features. Housed in a steel case, the watch retains the spirit of the earliest Reverso models, which were also crafted in steel. The front dial features a refined sunray-brushed black or blue finish, while the reverse dial is silver-colored, with a unique sunray-brushed pattern that creates an ever-changing light reflection. This new iteration also integrates small seconds and a second time zone, with the hours for the second time zone adjusted via a hidden slider.
Both versions are presented with two interchangeable straps: one in leather and canvas, designed by Casa Fagliano, and another in calf leather. This thoughtful design ensures that the Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds is not only a technical marvel but also a versatile piece that fits any occasion.
