Laurent Ferrier's Classic Micro-Rotor is renowned for its sleek case, elegant dial architecture, and exceptional micro-rotor movement. Yet, the latest edition, the Classic Micro-Rotor Di Rosa, takes this masterpiece into a new realm of artistry, thanks to a collaboration with the celebrated artist Hervé Di Rosa.
Di Rosa, a French artist known for his eclectic style that blends elements of comics, science fiction, and punk, brings a unique touch to this limited edition. His work, often described as "modest art," is celebrated worldwide and showcased in his own International Museum of Modest Art (MIAM) in Sète, France.
For this special release, the Classic Micro-Rotor features a hand-engraved dial inspired by Di Rosa's "Dirosapocalypse" artwork. The centerpiece of the design is the character “Ah! Ah! Ah!”—a green star-shaped figure with twelve arms, symbolizing the master of time. This figure is rendered in white gold on the dial, with its arms serving as hour markers.
The watch maintains the familiar 40mm stainless steel case, powered by the FBN 229.01 automatic micro-rotor movement with Laurent Ferrier’s Natural Escapement. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a 72-hour power reserve. The caseback, also engraved with “Ah! Ah! Ah!”, completes the theme.
Limited to just five pieces, this edition is finished with a forest green nubuck leather strap and a pin buckle. Priced at CHF 80,000 before taxes, it stands as a unique, artistic interpretation of the Classic Micro-Rotor, blending high horology with distinctive craftsmanship.
