Longines has added a new version to the Heritage Classic model family. The new model, which includes the design elements of the 1930s, draws attention with its black dial and "beads of rice" style bracelet.
Longines, one of the veteran names of the Heritage concept, expands the Heritage Classic collection, which features period-specific design details of the WWII era, with a new version.
The Heritage trend, influencing the watch industry for a long time, continues to storm the world of watches without losing anything from its popularity. Longines is a solid name in this trend that is inspired by mankind's everlasting love for nostalgia. The brand, which is among the locomotive names of the Swiss Watchmaking Industry, maintains its place among the pioneers of this trend with its outstanding success in the Heritage concept.
The new model is in the Heritage Classic collection that the brand added to its product range in 2019. The model, which we previously saw with a silver dial, appears this time with a new black dial.
The Longines Heritage Classic Black Dial comes in a 38.50mm diameter stainless steel case. The case, which offers a matching look with its size that is a candidate to serve as a bridge between the old and the modern, sports an elegant, Longines signed winding crown. The case has a box-type sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the front, and a steel cover with the Longines emblem on the back.
The new model is accompanied by a sector-style dial, which we are also familiar with from the silver version. Elegant hands and indices stand out on the sector dial, which consists of sections separated by different surface forms. The dial, which refers to the 1930s with the + motif in the middle, has a small seconds counter at 6 o'clock. Presenting a modest appearance in terms of lettering and emblem, the dial does not have any extra features, including the date indicator.
The Longines Heritage Classic Black Dial beats with the Caliber L893 movement. The automatic movement, designed exclusively for Longines and based on the proven Caliber ETA 2892, offers a power reserve time of up to 72 hours thanks to its working frequency reduced to 3.5 Hz (25.200vph).
Another novelty about the model comes from the strap/bracelet side. The new model also includes the option of a multi-piece metal bracelet in “Beads of Rice” style. Among the options, there is also a vintage-inspired leather strap.
