Mido’s latest creation, the Multifort TV Big Date, has received a stylish makeover with a rose gold PVD finish and a rich chocolate dial. Known for revisiting vintage models with modern updates, Mido has struck a chord with watch enthusiasts. This latest iteration of the Multifort TV Big Date, introduced in 2023, channels a luxurious 1970s vibe.
Originally released in 1973, Mido's TV-shaped watches have made a comeback to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The new Multifort TV Big Date features a 39.2mm x 40mm case with an 11.5mm thickness and a water resistance of 100m. The rose gold PVD case boasts a vertically brushed bezel and polished bevels, enhancing the watch's luxurious appeal. The textured chocolate-brown dial further complements this elegant look, reminiscent of high-end timepieces like the Patek Philippe Aquanaut.
The watch's dial features horizontal brushed grooves, and the gradient color transitions from lighter chocolate in the center to a darker shade on the edges. Recessed hour indices, with round markers and trapezoids at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, add to its sophisticated design. The Super-LumiNova treatment on the indices and hands ensures visibility in low light with a blue-green glow.
A standout feature is the big date window at noon, set against a brown background with white numerals, making it easy to read. The sporty brown rubber strap with rounded central mallets and a rose gold PVD pin buckle can be easily swapped using quick-release push pins.
Powered by the Swatch Group’s Powermatic 80 movement, the watch boasts an 80-hour power reserve, a shock-resistant and anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring, and a customized Mido rotor with Geneva stripes. The Multifort TV Big Date successfully combines vintage charm with modern luxury.
