As the Paris 2024 Olympic Games approach, Omega, the official timekeeper, unveils a new edition of its iconic Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m. This 41mm watch pays tribute to the legendary pole vaulter, Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, an eight-time world record breaker and Olympic champion.
Duplantis, who became an Omega ambassador in 2020, continues to dominate his sport, recently setting a new world record at 6.24m. Omega celebrates his remarkable achievements with a special edition Aqua Terra, embodying the Swedish flag's colors in its design.
The watch features a 41mm stainless steel case with Omega's signature twisted "lyre" lugs, a polished bezel, and a conical screwed crown. Despite its 41mm diameter and 13.2mm height, it sits comfortably on the wrist.
What sets this edition apart is its dial. The blue opaline finish with horizontal stripes is complemented by unique yellow elements. The rest of the dial retains the classic Aqua Terra look.
Powered by the in-house automatic Master Chronometer-certified caliber 8900, the watch boasts a dual-barrel architecture for a 60-hour power reserve and a practical time-zone feature. It is highly antimagnetic and precise, thanks to its co-axial escapement.
Completing the design is a blue rubber strap with yellow stitching, inspired by Sweden's colors, and secured with a folding clasp.
