Min. ReadOmega has renewed its role as the Official Timekeeper for the prestigious America’s Cup, the world’s oldest international sporting trophy. This year marks the brand’s ongoing partnership with Emirates Team New Zealand, which began in 1995 alongside legendary sailor Sir Peter Blake.
To celebrate its continued involvement in the 2024 edition of the race, Omega has introduced a special Seamaster Diver 300M, specifically designed for the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona. The event will run from August 22nd to October 27th, with Emirates Team New Zealand defending their title against a yet-to-be-determined challenger.
The new Seamaster Diver 300M maintains the iconic 42mm case, twisted lugs, and Helium Escape Valve at 10 o’clock. However, its most distinguishing feature is a regatta-scale bezel with two pre-start countdown sections and a "START" indicator adorned with a regatta flag. The unidirectional bezel still serves as a functional diver's tool.
The watch is equipped with a sleek blue ceramic bezel and a white dial with a laser-engraved wave pattern. Lumed markers are outlined in blue, and Omega has eliminated the date window at 6 o’clock for a cleaner look. The modified handset includes a blue-red gradient minute hand and a second hand with an America’s Cup trophy-shaped counterweight.
Powered by Omega’s in-house Caliber 8806, this automatic master chronometer offers a 55-hour power reserve and operates at 3.5Hz. The watch is available with a stainless-steel bracelet or a blue rubber strap, both featuring Omega’s patented Quick-Change system.
Packaged in a commemorative blue box with red stitching, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup Edition is available as a special, non-limited release.
