Oris continues its "Change for the Better" mission, whether by introducing a fully recyclable Sustainable Watch Box, celebrating Local Heroes, or partnering with Bracenet. This July, Oris supports the Reef Restoration Foundation with the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV, featuring unique design elements.
The Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV is based on the latest Aquis Date 43.50mm, released earlier this year. The stainless-steel case offers 300m water resistance, a screw-in crown, and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a grey tungsten insert. The bezel displays a 60-minute scale with a triangle at the top. The case back is engraved with coral and a starfish, along with the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition inscription and individual numbering, limited to 2,000 pieces.
The dial, protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal, features turquoise and blue hues with a vertical gradient, mimicking the sun’s rays through the Great Barrier Reef waters. The applied, shield-shaped, and faceted hour indices ensure excellent legibility, complemented by Alpha-style hour and minute hands. All hands, indices, and the lollipop central seconds hand are treated with Super-LumiNova for visibility in low light. The date window at 6 o’clock matches the darker dial section.
Powered by the in-house Calibre 400 automatic movement, the watch boasts a 5-day power reserve and advanced anti-magnetic capabilities. The use of silicon for the anchor and escape wheel, along with non-ferrous materials for the axes, ensures reliability. Operating within COSC-recommended chronometric parameters, the Calibre 400 offers accuracy of –3/+5 seconds daily, a 10-year service interval, and a 10-year warranty upon registration.
The watch comes with a three-link bracelet and Oris’s patented strap change and quick adjustment systems. Each purchase supports the Reef Restoration Foundation’s coral-tree-planting initiative, aiding conservation efforts to protect the Great Barrier Reef.
