Before we get to the review, I would like to say a few things about RADO. Currently operating within the Swatch Group, RADO is one of the first brands using alternative materials like Ceramic and Tungsten in their timepieces. In fact, the brand had a very high reputation with its virtually indestructible Tungsten case DiaStar and the black ceramic/yellow gold combined Jubilee series in Turkey.
Especially for the past five years, RADO re-newed their entire products range with the addition of modern design models and a new material which reflects one of their strongest sides of the brand Plasma Ceramic.
During our recent visit to Swatch Group Turkey, we had the opportunity to see three beautiful timepieces out of the current product line. Let’s have a close look at those novelties from RADO.
Being a member of the ‘’dress watch’’ category, the RADO Diamaster Automatic sports a very modern lay out. The case is made of RADO developed plasma ceramic which strongly points out the knowhow of the brand regarding this material. The case diameter measures at 43mm which is quite a good choice for a modern men’s watch. The matching designed crown is also made of plasma ceramic as well.
The large and simple dial features a combined design practically displaying the time and seconds in two different small dials. The dial also employs a date display window at 9 o’clock position.
The WR100M rated case is designed in a monoblock form which is pressed over a titanium case back. The sapphire crystal is slightly domed and it’s treated with anti reflective coating on both sides.
The watch is powered by the ETA2899 based automatic movement. 21 jewelled movement offers 42h of power reserve when fully wound.
RADO Diamaster Automatic is offered with a brown strap and a folding clasp. There is also a brown dial version as well.
Our next timepiece is coming from the brand’s Hyperchrome collection. Being offered in a very bold looking plasma ceramic case with 45mm diameter, Hyperchrome Automatic Chronograph features a nicely balanced touch of pink gold accents. The tachymetric bezel and the bracelet are also made of plasma ceramic expressing a very uniform look. The crown and the chronograph pushers are designed in red gold tone to match with the rest of the watch. The bracelet features mirror polished and satin brushed pieces combining both sporty and elegance styles at the same time.
The watch is offered with a matching gray dial with red gold accents like the hands set and the anchor figure at the RADO logo.
WR100M rated timepiece sports sapphire crystals on both sides with anti reflective coating.
The watch houses an ETA2894-2 based automatic chronograph movement. The 37 jewelled movement offers 42h power reserve when fully wound and it is nicely decorated with Cote’s de Geneve patterns combined with a black colored oscillating rotor.
The last timepiece we have here is a limited edition one.
Being limited to 600 pieces only, RADO Diamaster Automatic Limited Edition stands out with its 18K red gold bezel and 72 pieces of diamonds.
33mm plasma ceramic case is designed in monoblock form and pressed over the titanium case back. The watch sports double sapphire crystals with anti reflective coating and a a brilliant gray dial with red gold accents.
This beautiful timepiece ticks with the ETA2861 based automatic movement offering 38h power reserve when fully wound. 25 jewelled movement features a date function and a black colored oscillating rotor.
The plasma ceramic bracelet offers mirror polished and satin brushed parts and a titanium folding clasp.
Beside those three models we mentioned here, RADO features a very strong and versatile product range with attractive new models. Stay tune for RADO’s latest novelties at Baselworld 2016.
