Roger Dubuis introduced the new limited edition model designed in collaboration with Liu Wei, one of the famous names of contemporary arts.
The model that came to life within the scope of the brand's vision for the future, hyper-horology, draws attention with its details that bring art and high watchmaking under the same roof.
The new model comes with a 42mm diameter case made of ultra-light titanium. The case, which includes the signature details of the Excalibur series, such as the notched bezel, bold lug design, and large winding crown, is waterproof up to 100 meters. Thanks to the anti-reflective sapphire crystals used on both sides of the sporty case, both the dial and the movement can be watched with pleasure.
The stylish model houses a unique three-layered dial made of sapphire crystal. The first layer consists of clear sapphire embroidered with vertical lines on both sides. All of the lines on the surface are filled by hand and then dried one by one and made ready for painting. The star-shaped bridge of the Caliber RD512 movement, which brings the model to life, takes its place as the second layer. The third and final layer is the sapphire crystal case back, laser engraved with horizontal lines and hand-filled with UV paint. Time is read through the white gold hour and minute hands hosting three different surfaces.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Liu Wei Monotourbillon is powered by the manufacture Caliber RD512 movement. The Hallmark of Geneva certified hand-wound movement dazzles with its tourbillon escapement as well as its fully perforated architecture. Working at a frequency of 3Hz (21,600vph), the movement offers up to 72 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The model, which is limited to only 8 pieces, is offered for sale with a black calfskin strap and titanium folding clasp. The list price for the new model is EUR 165,500.
