RJ (formerly known as Romain Jerome) is under the spotlight with the Titanium-themed version of its new RJ Arraw 6919 Space model family introduced at the SIHH 2019 watch exhibition.
The new model’s case design is based on the Arraw platform, which represents the renewed face of the brand. However, the richness of the details comes through the case extensively as it does in the rest of the concept.
The case is made of Grade 5 titanium alloy with a circular satin finish. Equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides, the case is water resistant to 100 meters / 10 bars. One of the most important components of the model that refers to the space theme is the bezel. The bezel is made of the same alloy with case and equipped with an exclusively designed insert created by using original high-performance acrylic glass with parts from the Apollo 11 spacecraft. The bumpers on the bezel are black rubber as always and the screw-lock winding crown is also made of black rubber and Grade 5 titanium.
The dial of the model, like the whole concept, is among the parts that the attention to detail is embodied. In the sector-style dial with different surface-pattern components, the applique indexes are rhodium-plated and satin-brushed as well as the faceted hands. All accents are Super LumiNOVA C1 “blue emission” phosphor material applied for optimum legibility in almost any environment. The rotating satellite style moon phase indicator on the hand is truly a visual feast on its own.
The new model is powered by the Caliber RJ-2180 movement, which attracts attention with its 360° central rotating moon phase indicator. 41 jewels self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 28.800vph (4 Hz) and offers a 38-hour power reserve when fully wound.
RJ Arraw 6919 Space Titanium comes with a black rubber lined polyamide strap, designed in accordance with the concept. The strap is secured by a titanium deployant clasp, polished, satin-brushed with side plates in black composite, and joint in black rubber.
The model is limited to a span of 100 units only and is available with a MSRP of CHF 21’800. There are two other versions in the RJ Arraw 6919 Space with Ceramic and Gold themes.
