Seiko introduced four new models in the Prospex Collection exclusively designed under their brand partnership with PADI. Each will be limited production pieces and sold at Seiko retailers in Japan only.
Having introduced a pair of PADI special editions during Baselworld 2016, Seiko recently released another collection celebrating its partnership with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).
The new collection includes four dive watches based on the Prospex series, all being limited editions sporting blue and red accents to match with PADI’s logo. The new timepieces also express the variance of the brand’s highly praised dive watch product line, in an assortment of various styles; like a classic “Tuna”, or a contemporary solar-powered dive watch for ladies.
The flagship of the collection is the Prospex Marinemaster Professional PADI “Tuna” (ref. SBBN039). This iconic style timepiece is offered in a stainless steel case measuring 47.7mm in diameter. The case features a dual-curved crystal surrounded by a metallic blue coated bezel. SBBN039 is powered with the brand’s quartz movement, the Caliber Ref. 7C46.
The second novelty in our list is the Prospex Scuba Diver PADI “Sumo” (ref. SBDC049). The steel case is identical to that used on the standard “Sumo” with a diameter of 45mm, and is water resistant up to 200 meters. SBDC049 is powered with the self-winding Caliber Ref. 6R15.
The other two models in the new Padi collection are a matching set for men and women. Both timepieces are featured in titanium and powered by solar quartz movements, and offer an impressive 10-month power reserve when fully charged. The men’s Prospex Solar Scuba Diver PADI (ref. SBDJ015) is 44.1mm in diameter, while the ladies’ model (ref. SBDN035) is 38.8mm.
The entire collection will be sold only at Seiko retailers in Japan.
