Although diamonds and other precious stones obtained in laboratory environments are widely used in the jewelry industry, they are still among the materials that can be considered virgin for luxury watchmaking. These new and alternative precious stones can be obtained in high-tech laboratories within a symbolic period of a few weeks, unlike the samples that take billions of years to form in natural conditions and are mined under extremely difficult conditions. TAG Heuer, which has made it a philosophy to adopt advanced technology to design and production processes in the best way possible, is known as the name that introduced precious stones obtained in the laboratory environment to the watch industry. TAG Heuer Carrera Date Plasma d'Avant-Garde, one of the cult watchmaker's newest models, reinforces the brand's leadership in this field.

TAG Heuer Carrera Date Plasma d'Avant-Garde comes in an 18K white gold case with a diameter of 36mm. The elegant case, which brings Carrera's signature design to a compact size, is accompanied by a 1.3K yellow diamond winding crown obtained in a laboratory environment. The stylish case, with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glasses on both sides, offers water resistance up to 50 meters.

The part that brings the laboratory-obtained diamond theme of the new model to its peak is the tastefully designed dial. The dial plate is made of 2.9K special polycrystalline diamonds that sparkle like the wet asphalt of the race track. The applique indexes are made of 18K white gold. In the words of Lusix, one of TAG Heuer's lab diamond suppliers, the dial and individual diamonds are created using CVD technology, in which a diamond 'seed' is placed in a vacuum chamber containing carbon and hydrogen gases. A plasma of gases is ignited by microwave radiation. The plasma decomposes the gases into radicals containing carbon atoms, and these atoms gradually bind to the seed and grow the crystal.
