Glashütte Original’s SeaQ Collection, introduced in 2019, marked the brand’s return to sports watches, inspired by the vintage Spezimatic of 1969. Among the collection’s various editions, the SeaQ Chronograph stands out for its robust design and modern features. Now, this model is available in a striking new version: the SeaQ Chronograph Silver Screen.
This new iteration retains the SeaQ Chronograph’s core specifications: a substantial 43.2mm stainless steel case, 51.6mm lug-to-lug, and 16.95mm thickness. It’s designed for serious diving, offering 300m water resistance and adherence to DIN 8306 and ISO 6425 standards. The unidirectional rotating bezel, now featuring a black ceramic insert, is paired with a highly-domed sapphire crystal with AR coating. The chronograph function is operated via two octagonal pushers, reinforcing the watch’s rugged appearance with a classic late-1960s case shape and semi-integrated lugs.
The “Silver Screen” name reflects the dial’s new galvanic silver tone, offering a subtle matte finish for enhanced contrast and reduced reflections. The dial features a lathe-cut concentric pattern and blackened outlines on the hands and markers, which are filled with luminous material for readability. The Panorama Date at 6 o’clock complements the black-and-white theme with white numerals on a black background.
Inside, the SeaQ Chronograph houses the in-house Calibre 37-23, a high-end automatic flyback chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch. The movement includes a silicon balance spring for added durability and a 70-hour power reserve. The finishing remains classic GO, with striped decoration on the three-quarter plate, beveled and polished edges, and a skeletonized rotor with a solid gold mass.
The SeaQ Chronograph Silver Screen is available with various strap options, including classic black rubber, casual textile, and a steel bracelet with a micro-adjustment System.
