Ulysse Nardin Freak X, the latest member of the Freak model family, which attracts attention with its innovative and futuristic design, was the guest of our pages with its blue-themed titanium version.
The new Freak X Collection, introduced at this year's SIHH watch trade show, comes in a 43mm case. The case, which consists of satin-brushed surfaces, emphasizes the modern and innovative character of the model, while being very comfortable on the wrist thanks to its lightweight material. The case, which highlights the two-tone concept of the model with its bezel and lugs PVD coated in matching blue, is equipped with anti-glare coated scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides. The model is waterproof up to 50 meters / 5 bars.
The dial is skeletonized in line with the Freak X concept. However, what you see is not just another skeleton watch. On the edge of the dial, minute and hour scales are located respectively. Super-LumiNOVA phosphorus material was applied on indexes and movement bridges. In this way, you can read the time clearly. The time display method is mostly inspired by the unique architecture of the movement.
Developed and manufactured by Ulysse Nardin, the model is powered by the automatic Caliber UN-230 operating at a frequency of 3Hz (21600vph) and offering a power reserve of 72 hours (3 days) when fully wound. The movement is equipped with several important components, including the escapement, made of silicone, which is a new-age material introduced to the watchmaking industry by Ulysse Nardin. This material, which is highly resistant to magnetic field and temperature changes, ensures that the accuracy of the movement remains optimal. The movement features a Tourbillon that performs a full rotation in one-hour time and acts as the minute counter.
The model is accompanied by a blue alligator strap decorated with "point de bride" stitches and a UN signed titanium folding clasp. The list price for Ulysse Nardin Freak X (Ref. 2303-270 / 03) is CHF 21,000.
