Employing a strategy to rejuvenate its iconic past collections, Vulcain draws inspiration from historical references, notably the refined Vulcain Grand Prix from the 1960s. This series draws its roots from the original timepiece unveiled at the Barcelona International Fair between May 29, 1929, and January 15, 1930, commemorating the brand’s prestigious accolade. Attracting attention during its inauguration by King Alphonso XIII, the fair awarded 1,175 honors, including 655 Grand Prix titles. The new Vulcain Grand Prix series emerges as a contemporary rendition of this timeless model tailored for the modern era.

The 2024 Vulcain Grand Prix boasts a polished 316L steel case measuring 39 mm in diameter and 12.7 mm in thickness, with a water resistance of 50 meters. True to reissue standards, the case front features double-domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, while the stylish case back also sports sapphire crystal.

Featuring three dial variations, each adorned with a semi-luminous sunburst pattern mirroring the domed crystal shape—champagne, light gray, or black. The dials showcase polished hour markers with dual indexes at cardinal positions, preserving the watch’s slender, elegant, and classic design. Positioned above the center are the Vulcain logo and series name, while the “automatic” text and Swiss Made inscription adorn the lower portion next to the 6 o’clock index, offering a harmonious and minimalist aesthetic.

Powering the new model is the Landeron L24 movement, distinguishing itself from ETA and Sellita alternatives found in similar price segments. The automatic movement, providing up to 40 hours of power reserve when fully wound, can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back.
