Zenith introduced the new Chronomaster model, inspired by the legendary model A386. The new model is only available on the brand's e-commerce site.
The new model follows in the footsteps of the A386, which the brand introduced in 1969. The 38mm diameter case, designed per the original model, promises comfortable use on the wrist with its 13mm height. A 38mm sports chronograph also demonstrates how determinedly the trend has been adopted today when the relatively small-sized models start gaining back the reputation they deserve. Unlike the original model, the 50 meters water-resistant case has a sapphire crystal display case back.
The dial hosts three-color counters, which are identified with the Zenith El Primero Chronograph concept. The dial, accompanied by baton indices and hands, has a date window at 4:30. The red chronograph seconds hand highlights the sporty theme of the model.
Caliber El Primero 3600, which we are familiar with from many previous models in the Zenith product group, ticks inside the new model. Representing the most up-to-date and refined version of the El Primero platform, the movement stays true to the El Primero DNA with its high oscillation frequency of 5Hz (36,000vph). Equipped with a column wheel and horizontal coupling automatic chronograph, the movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back.
The model, available through Zenith Online Boutique only, comes on a gray calf leather strap with special stitching detail and a folding buckle. The list price for the model is CHF 8,400.
