Zenith offered the fourth version of its tribute to Rolling Stones timepieces since 2014 -the starting year of their brand partnership. The new model is based on the famous El Primero Chronograph model with a limited production of 250 pieces only.
Zenith, who discovered the “special and limited edition model” concept a bit later than its rivals, issued its latest model dedicated to the legendary rock band Rolling Stones.
The new model is based on the famous El Primero Chronograph model. The timepiece is offered in a black ceramic case with a diameter of 45mm. The case sports AR coated and scratch proof sapphire crystals on both sides and is water resistant to 100 meters.
The timepiece’s dial is pretty interesting. Designed in skeleton form, the dial is also the main plate of the movement as well. The red accented dial’s most eye catching detail is obviously the band’s iconic lips and tongue logo located on the second’s sub dial. The logo rotates as the watch ticks and completes a full rotation in one minute.
The date display is located at 6 o’clock position. Seems more like a space than a window, the display features a perforated disk. The hour and minutes hands are formed like the neck of a 1950s Fender Telecaster model, an electric guitar used by the band’s guitarist Keith Richards.
The limited edition model is powered up by the brand’s famous ( and not less legendary than Rolling Stones ) in-house Caliber 400B. Automatic chronograph movement beats at 36.000vph ( Hi-Beat ) and offers 50h power reserve when fully wound. The movement features 326 individual parts and it’s fully decorated with Cotes de Genève motifs.
The watch features a fitting final touch in the shape of a black calfskin strap with hot-stamped rock-style motifs and red stitching, secured by a triple folding clasp in black PVD-coated titanium.
The El Primero Skeleton Tribute to The Rolling Stones is available from brand’s boutiques and retailers starting November, priced at CHF 11,400.
